Canadians traveling to Australia are eligible to apply for an ETA visa online. Before making any travel arrangements, it is important to review the requirements set by the Australian Home Office upon which visas are granted to persons seeking to travel to Australia.
In certain cases, in order to determine whether or not an individual fulfills the health requirements needed for entry, he/she may be required to go through a medical examination. Individuals suffering from certain significant illnesses may also need to sign an Australian Health undertaking to monitor their progress with a doctor in Australia.
If there is a perceived risk that an individual might engage in criminal activity whilst in Australia, his/her visa will be denied by the Home Office.

How Do I Apply for an Australian Visa from Canada
Applying for an ETA visa online can be done through the Australian ETA visa website. When you go to the main page, there will be a green button towards the center of the page which says, ‘Australian Visa Application’. When you click on that, it will take you to a page where you will have to enter some biographical information as well as your passport details. It is really important that you enter the information as accurately as possible; because any discrepancy between the information you provide and that shown on your passport will result in your application being rejected. You may even be turned away at the airport if that is the case.
After you are done entering your personal information and passport details, you will then be asked to enter a valid email address and phone number. You will also need to provide valid credit/debit card information in order to have your application processed.
Your ETA will be sent to you via email once your application has been approved. You will need to keep an electronic copy of your ETA on your phone or handheld device and bring a print-out with you to the Australian border/airport.
If you are flying into Australia, you will be asked to fill out an Incoming Passenger Card (IPC) onboard the airplane, which asks you about; your travel plans, contacts in Australia, the address you will be staying at, and any customs or quarantine declarations among other things.
Once you are cleared by the Australian Border Force, your ETA will be attached to your passport and this will allow you to travel to and within Australia.
Please note that you will have to notify the Australian Home Office in the event your phone number or email address changes. Additionally, working while visiting Australia on an ETA is strictly prohibited.
